Wow! this is such a tragedy, we've been going to Mt. Snow for over 25 years, been to many of the places in Wilmington to eat and shop; thoughts and prayers go out to our friends in Vermont.
This is shocking. We're looking into the second story of these buildings. I believe this was taken from Ray Hill Road overlooking Dots in the foreground, and the red brick building housing Manyu's amd Beanheads in the center there. The building on the far side is the paint store.. If you want to help, go to Wilmington Vermont website where regular updates are posted. Please support this wonderful Vermont town and those who live there..
This is heartbreaking. My wife and I were in Wilmington in July (we were staying at an inn in West Dover and attending the Marlboro Music Festival). On that Sunday, we got coffee and the paper at Beanheads and sat in the little park atop the bridge at the juncture of rtes 9 and 100. I do hope everyone is ok and that the damage wasn't as extensive as it could have been.
@seaottrwmn actually it played a major role in, Summer set damn had water over flowing the damn so they had to Release the water quickly. The opened the gates and floods the town, its so sad! Where lake Whitingham is now there used to be the town of Whitingham, until some people came along and flooded the town. Now is a lake! Trans Canada say's lake Whitingham is not a place for people to have fun on, it is a place to make money.
@btmnkyb. Just where dud I state that it was " alright". My comment was in jest and designed to give a little lightheartedness to an unfortunate situation. Since you commented on the renovation then you obviously know what I was referring to and can appreciate it. FYI I give over $10,000 per year to the state of Vt and the DV area so the shovels those volunteers are using are likely paid for, in part, by me so STFU if you can't relax a little and don't know WTF you are talking about or who yo
@drbobvs they had revovated quite recently and fixed the uneven floors.... this completly destroyed a beautiful town that is my home and you think its alright because the floors in a hometown dinner were a little off? if it matters that much to you, then why dont you voulenteer downtown and help rebuild it so your precious floor will be level
omg so sorry is it all fixed by jow?
