@NewEnglandgardening Possums climb very well and they can even hang from trees by the tail. Getting up on that wall is no problem for them. The cage is positioned on top of the wall to trap anything using the wall as a freeway to eat my fruit and nut crops.

Did you put the cage on the wall to video tape it or is that where the cage was. I don't see how it could have climbed up there. I don't like to catch stuff at night but sometimes I forget to close the door at night and ended up with a skunk and a possum once. They sure are ugly and I remember that dripping saliva thing from the mouth and nose all to clearly. We must have the uglier version here. The one I caught had less facial hair. Very prehistoric looking up close.

@whiskerchild Transporting wild animals in California is a violation of State game laws. You would be better off to just release them or put them down. Both are legal here. I release them because despite they are a pest they aren't my quarry. If they didn't stink so bad I might consider them supper but no way!
