For years sadly most of the media has betrayed us so terribly. Hardly ever showing the hard, honest working people of this county, never pointing out the gifts this area has too offer.

These videos are a personal biography through my eyes & what I see every day, the love for my family & the beauty of this county. All I ever wanted was for everyone to have a chance to see the Harlan County that we are proud of and that we love so much.

I'm truly sorry, but I don't know how long this video will be allowed to be played on youtube. It's so sad that many companies are beginning to force youtube to start blocking videos.
It's going to break my heart when they begin to block my videos of Harlan County.. all I wanted is for everyone to enjoy, to see all the beauty that Harlan County has to offer...
At least just for a short time I truly enjoyed making videos. I wanted so much to film more of Harlan County, I guess it's just not meant to be : (

Once again it breaks my heart my videos are being blocked.. I'm so sorry...

Hi everybody,
I'm truly sorry about the camera shaking so much : (
Well we were able to go back on the 9th, we were worried about some rain later in the week and were worried some of the leaves might be gone by next weekend, but boy did I pick a bad day to fly, not only was it cloudy and I do mean cloudy : ( it was really windy, Joel tried to explain it was going to be bumpy, and boy was it, lol.... you see the first time we went it was so smooth, well after a while I felt like a yo yo, hahahaha it was so hard to film, Joel tried to go up higher, but lets just say I'm so happy Jeff had the idea to bring some plastic bags, because poor old Mikey was the first one to go and as soon as Mikey threw up I wasn't too far behind : ( so Joel turned around as fast as he could, Ariel enjoying every moment of the ride, it was like a great roller coaster to her, lol, well Thank the Lord we landed because it was all I can do to hold it, hahaha so bless Jeff's heart he took over the filming, while Mikey and I were out of it, hahahaha. Joel said he would take Jeff and Ariel up to 5200 feet so it would be a lot smoother to film so that's why after the footage of the Harlan County High School is so different, once again I'm truly sorry about the film being bad, I even tried to slow down the footage hoping to help, I really apologize to Evarts, Cumberland and Black Mountain, I wanted so much to film more of these beautiful places, but it was just a bad day to film low, but hopefully one day soon we will come back and film a much better close up of Evarts, Cumberland, Black Mountain and more places in Harlan County.
I tried to subtitle the areas, I hope I did it right, now we still have more footage, so I'm working on a 3rd video of the Mountains, the fall colors were so beautiful and I couldn't believe how gorgeous these Mountains are, we are so lucky!!!
Once again I apologize about the camera bouncing around and we hope to come back later and get more of a close up on Evarts, Cumberland and Black Mountain : )

Beautiful, can't wait to show my kids, I was born in Benham County in 1961, my father was born and raised in Cumberland and my mother was born in Leatherwood/Dephi area, they are both gone now, Daddy in 1966 and mom in 2005. I was raised in Northern Indiana after my daddy died but have many cousins still in the area...

I ENJOYED THE FILM VERY MUCH! SURE TAKES ME BACK THERE! I WAS BORN IN LOUELLEN IN 1953 AND WENT TO SCHOOL THERE (GRADUATED AT EVARTS IN 1971). WHO WOULD EVER HAVE THOUGHT THAT A SMALL HOMETOWN BOY WOULD GROW UP TO HELP BUILD THE MOST SOPISICATED AIRCRAFT ENGINES IN THE WORLD! GOES TO SHOW ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU ONLY BELIEVE! LOVE TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND ALL THE RESIDENCE OF HARLAN COUNTY KENTUCKY.

One thing I am defintely afraid of is heights I could never do this they would have to drug me to get me up that high in the sky. This is one reason that I will never be able to travel as I can't ever see ,yself getting in a plane.The scenery is very nice from wayyyyy up there.I love the crows I see they fear Phoenix somewhat,Thanks for sharing hugs & kisses from Tita & Me xoxoxo

Tammy this was such a wonderful and very beautiful video. amazing scenery. very very nice, Tammy at the end of the video in the bushes in the back, i see an animal there, not sure if anyone one else noticed it. lol. You know the part where crows are eating and phoenix comes in for a landing? I see some kind of animal poking his head up. I had to push it back a few times to make sure i was seeing it right. ty for sharing all this beauty with us. Love you Lucy
