The video runs 12:14 (min:sec), and it first aired on PBS NewsHour in August 2007. No Child Left Behind (NCLB) is a federal education program designed to get states to improve the performance of their students on standardized tests. The video walks through a number of ways states can subvert the goals of NCLB. States have found ways to excluded the test scores of some students who don't perform well; they have added "curves" to their average scores to give the illusion kids are doing better than they actually are, and some states have lowered the bar on what is a "passing grade."
