A compelling new one-hour documentary recounts the true mission impossible of the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division during WWII. After backbreaking training, the legendary alpine fighting force was sent to dislodge the entrenched Germans on Italy's mountaintops. The rest is history. The 10th turned the tide for the Allies in Italy, revolutionized winter mountain warfare, transformed winter sports and inspired a new generation of soldiers.

  • psshhh no one's getting through canada ;)

  • Norwegian Army where one of the first to utilize skies in warfare.

  • "revolutionized winter mountain warfare"? The Italians and French had mountain troops since the XIXth century (Alpini and Chasseurs Alpins). The Austrians, Germans, Romanians and Spanish founded theirs in the early XXth century (Landesschützen, Alpenkorps, Vânâtori de Munte and Cazadores de montaña).

The US army only found out what had been common sense for European armies for half a century before them.

  • @kalelo91 Don't forget to say "Go Sweden" as well. After all you wouldn't last near as long if you didn't have our volunteers and our guns & ammunition... :)

  • We Norwegians are born with ski's on our feet :)

Nice to see that other countries can learn from us for the better good!

  • @MrKafenisanje I'm sorry but I barely understood what you just wrote.

  • @ThePerfectOwnage "idiot's" <-- This is what we call ironic. And that's just adding punctuation. I'd understand if English isn't your first language, but your username is in English... so I'm assuming it is. Also, your/you're. 'on' should be 'at', 'they' and 'are' should be switched.

  • @ThePerfectOwnage

That is a silly statement. For the most part the enemy isn't well defined and makes it a habit of sending out unarmed patrols.
