Atheism (and Ask an Atheist) would not be where it is without the Internet. But is this a good thing?

  • as for the

"target audience" my theist friends and relatives dont ever want to talk about religion or watch videos like this. :(

  • @DirtyPoopers That's a shame. We're trying to use the broadcast power of radio to get our voice to be heard by folks that have never come into our corner of the internet. We've always tried to be a general audience show, with an emphasis on reaching people who've never seen an atheist talk before. -- Mike

  • be self employ because never worry about getting fire from the job.

  • I really do not understand Atheists. So you do not believe in God or religion? That is perfectly fine. However, why would you focus so much of your life, effort, and time on something you don't believe in? I don't believe in Santa Claus. But I'm not creating a radio show, going on internet forums, and writing blogs about it. If I don't believe in something, I don't talk about it, as why talk about something that doesn't exist? It's a shame.

  • @Arikiel I should've mentioned that. I forget where Marysville is, and the HNPS are cool folks.

  • To Debra in marysville. You should check out the Humanists of North Puget Sound. They cover the Everett to Bellingham area and meet up once a month in Mount Vernon. There's also another informal monthly meet up in Bellingham. :)

  • had no idea bionicdance was in that area. very cool. i would love to meat you guys...but i'm down in the bible belt (TN) :(

  • We observe nature and then provide “explanations” for what we observe.

The faith based explanation is “creationism”; god did it! This is promoted by fear and superstition called “theology”!

A fact based explanation is “scientism”; evolution is doing it! This is promoted by observation and testing called “scientific methodology”.

Please don’t confuse scientism as being atheism; there is actually no such thing as “ATHEISM”. Not accepting an explanation is NOT and "ism".

  • Keight, rawr is absolutely necessary. To be a wuss is not acceptable.
