Kerala, TN fuelling Mullaperiyar Dam fire: SC

@Teljoo I think you have not read the 2006 SC judgment. Do you think national level lawyers are so dumb to exclude such things? Mullai periyar area is as prone to earthquakes as is Trivandrum or Cochin. So will you evacuate ppl from those cities. Please face the truth, you need water at idukki dam to generate electricity. Which can only be acheived by reducing the water level at MullaiPeriyar.

@Teljoo Yes, you have all the rights to build a new dam. Also make sure to lease it to us, so that we dont have to fight for the water which is rightfully ours. All Kerala politicians can easily give away word about giving water. But what is the assurance? Nobody is talking about giving the lease? Your government doesnt even carry out SC order, how can one expect to get water, just because of a promise?

dear tamil Bros nd sis ......u all telling that dam is safe nd our people is safe ....one question i need to ask, When central Govt starts new Nuclear plant in Tamil nadu why u people opposed .....that time u all considered abt ur future .... same way we are thinking about our future ...every one know this dam won't stand 999 years anyhow at some stage we need to build new dam so make it now and make happy life for both of us , which u will get water and for us we can live with out fear ...

@TanjongTiram Even a small kid know it is not SAFE to use a dam after its expiry date which was 36 years before. (pls dont compare Grand anicut its not a dam) .We keralites experienced many small earthquakes in past 10 years at Idukki and look at the amount of seepage water leaking from the damaged walls of the dam, it is increasing day by day.When we adding all together peoples those staying at the down stream of periyar even cannot sleep because of Fear.

This issue firstly raise up by people from Idukki and not so called kerala politicians.It is a well known fact that during 2006 SC judgement, court never consider the earthquakes and it's impacts. And how many more times we need to tell you all that we are ready to give the same amount of water as you all enjoying for past 116 years.Can you please pointout me is there any reason that we cannot demand a New Dam for our safety.

“When this court said that Tamil Nadu can raise water level up to 142 feet, can you (Kerala) nullify it by enacting a legislation and fixing the water level at 136 feet?” it asked senior counsel Rajiv Dhawan appearing for Kerala. “What is the sanctity of the Supreme Court if its judgments are not implemented,” it asked.

@Teljoo theres nothing wrong with the structure, its for SD / and realted experts to decide on this issue not Kerala petty politicians who are pressing the panic button over a non issue thus resulting in aggression of Tamils . They just want to do away with the 999yrs lease and SC could see thru their scam !!!

Bro! it's not a 'water war'. it is all about safety of a 116 year old structure..
