Sheikh Ahmad al Ajami: Afghani Nasheed "Allahu Akbar"

Sh al Ajami recites his famous Afghani nasheed.

Translation of the nasheed/song:

ghaltida, ghaltida,
dar khak o khoon shahidan,
gulgun shod Afghanistan,
allahu akbar allahu akbar

(those who've fallen, those who've fallen,
by the martyrs dust and blood,
has Afghanistan become a rose-garden,
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)

rasida rasida,
ba arezoye shahidan,
gulhaye sorkh-e quran,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

(they've come, they've come
aspiring/choosing to become shahids
(like) red (bloody) flowers of the quran
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)

hamsangar, hamsangar,
bishnaw payam-e amra,
[bi]gir entiqam amra,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

(bunker companion, bunker companion,
listen to what i say,
take revenge on my behalf,
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)

ali wor[i] amlawar (?),
sarzanem barjab'a,
ba sharte gird-e kab'aa,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

(charge like ali (ra),
discover what is happening (on the battlefield),
like you would circle around the kaba' (?),

mijoshad mijoshad,
khane shahid dar sangar,
chun lalahayi ahmar,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

([the battle] was boiling, [the battle] was boiling
the house of the martyr on the battlefield
like (a field) red (bloody) tulips
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)

khorosim, khorosim,
bar rushaye kafir,
ba nahraye takbir,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

(our roosters, our roosters,
to the disbeleiving russians,
shout 'Allah is Most Great' (takbir),
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)

mirasmim mirasmim,
ba hama ba qudratha,
ham rus o ham amrika,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

(we will fight, we will fight,
united against super powers,
be it russia or america,
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)

misazim, misazim,
jamhuri islami,
na sharqi o na gharbi,
allahu akbar, allahu akbar

(we will create, we will create,
an (universal) Islamic Republic,
not west nor east,
Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest)
