a lot of great features that steve didn't even mention! Like being able to use your computer keyboard to record, and that you can tamper with each individual note's length and volume after you're done recording. Such a great app for music lovers like myself, great for scoring powerpoints and short films, both of which I have done with this app.

you can only use a keyboard for the software instruments. you can plug into the computer with either a microphone or your instrument using the mic port on any mac. i've actually recorded guitar straight to garage band by plugging it in that way.
too bad they didn't show you can turn the music you've played into sheet music (which is a very cool thing I think)

that feature was introcuded in Garage Band 2 or 3 (i don't remember which) this video was the intro to 1.0.
