Nurse Lady: Well, it is just a bad sprain. A cast for a week should be enough for it to heal.
Mitchie: okay.
Nurse Lady: What color wrap would you like? Do you want Blue or Red?
Mitchie: Red.
The nurse wrapped her ankle, told Mitchie to keep it elevated, and sent them on their way. Mitchie had to wear a special shoe that supported her while she walked. She had a limp but it wasn’t very noticeable but Shane knew. Shane couldn’t stop giving quick glances, as she limped, at her ankle.
Shane: How bad does it hurt on a scale from one to ten? And be honest.
Mitchie: six.
Shane then picked her up bridal style. He wasn’t going to let her walk if it hurt.
Mitchie: Shane, I have legs. I can walk.
Shane: *shakes his head no* I’m not letting you walk if it hurts.
Mitchie: But-
Shane: Sorry, not letting you.
He carried her to the mess hall of fame. He placed her on the ground and they walked over to the table where their friends were.
Caitlyn: Mitchie! *hugs her*
Tess: Come here you. * hugs her*
After everyone got their hug from Mitchie they finally realized Shane was holding one of her shoes.
Peggy: What happened to your ankle?
Mitchie: I sprained it.
Ella: Does it hurt?
Mitchie: Kind of.
Nate: You should get off of it. We’ll bring you your dinner.
Mitchie: I could get it myself. I’m hurt not crippled.
Jason: I want a birdhouse!
Shane: Make it yourself!
Jason: I can’t.
Shane: Why not!?
Jason: I don’t have any wood.
Shane: Look around you! Trees are wood!
Jason: oh yeah! *runs out*
Nate: Now Mitchie stop being stubborn. *secretly tells Shane to take her whether she wants to or not*
Mitchie: No!
Shane picks her up, puts her back over his shoulder, and carries her away, pausing to get something for her and him to eat.
Mitchie: Shane, I’m getting really sick of this! *hits his back*
Shane: Violence is never the answer.
Mitchie: *gives up and lets him carry her*
Shane takes her to her cabin that she is sharing with Tess and Caitlyn. He puts her on the bed and hands her dinner to her and keeps his. They eat in silence when suddenly….
