@TheTyrants1 When he first started in the band, he was not plugged in or put in the PA. Gradually, as he started to improve, they put him through the PA and he could be heard such as this gig. Having said that, the band and Richey himself made sure he was low in the mix. He also played one chord on the recording of La Trisstessa Durera off the second album.
Hopefully that should settle any confusion.

dude he is plugged in, the chords fit the song, go watch mowtown junk after this in the second solo you can clearly here his rhythm
-
i think this is one of thier best.
-
@kefhoops he could play... just not very well. Plus he wrote the best lyrics ever.
-
@daviscysgod Richey gave James lyrics,as important as they were it was up to the rest of the band to actually make a song out of it,Richey had no musical input into the band whatsoever.

Bradders on that guitar...what a legend. That solo almost made me wet myself. Oh and Richey was, essentially, the voice of the band. Without his poetic genius the Manics wouldn't be the Manics! Just about everything they had to say back then came from his mind, his pen! So yeah, pretty useless huh? Pfft!
-
@kefhoops prepare for a virtual battering from the manic followers

It was Richies decision whether to play or not, but he has written all the best Manics songs. (check out the holy bible) Apologies to Nicky who I admire but he himself admits he is nowhere in the same leauge as Richie with song writing.
Aww Richey's smile at 2:46...Thanks for uploading!
