Hands on with Ford's new technologies that help you park, and the will also apply the brakes when a collision is iminent.

From Ford:

Active park assist helps drivers parallel park with the touch of a button and without ever touching the steering wheel

Active park assist uses ultrasonic-based sensing system and electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) to steer the vehicle into a parking spot -- EPAS also improves fuel economy up to
5 percent, while reducing CO2 emissions and enhancing performance, compared with traditional steering

Launched in mid-2009, the innovative technology is available very affordably on the Ford Focus, Explorer, Escape, Flex, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT

  • @freakyfantom People who are bad at parking require

  • THATS FUCKING RIDICULOUS! COME ON AMERICA, BE RESPONSIBLE!

  • mercedes had this parking assist for some time, but same as here, you need to do the accelerating/braking/ changing forward/reverse. On a private demo, one person didn't understand this, and just floored the gas, and the car crashed in to the car behind it. Can' understand why it can't do the braking and changing gears(direction) at least

  • yes, yes, everybody can parallel park (sarcasm)... this tech on a regular car is awesome, and the auto-break should be mandatory on all new cars.

  • @freakyfantom It's not that we need it to park, but it's a luxury and it's also nothing new it's been around for a few years now.
