no because this keeps the entire database in your pocket.
A charged battery is the only requirement to access it, no wifi, no cell signal, no nothing.

Yes, I get that. But, for example, I have an 8GB iPod Touch. This takes about 1/4 of my hard drive. I don't think I'll ever be so desperate that I can't wait till I'm near an access point to search for some info. Besides, the good thing about Wikipedia is that it's constantly updating. In order to get the latest updates you'd have to download the Wiki dump at least once a week. It's just not worth it.

i still don't think that it is worth 2 gig when you only need internet.

Then again, it could be used to advantage in school. Researching a subject in a test maybe?

There is an official app for this, just called 'encyclopedia'. Pretty expensive for an app store app though.
