unfortunately, you have just totally fried your water pump impeller. People do this all the time. You must NEVER run an outboard without a steady supply of water to the pump. The impeller is made from soft rubber & will melt in seconds if not pumping water.

I did not know about the water thing and let mine run reving it up over and over again for a good minute or more until cylinders got toasty, checked out this video and decided to check the impeller. It looked good as new.. I wouldn't recommend doing this but people get their panties in a bind. These engines are built like tanks and I will put my 60hp Sportifour against any yamaha or non OMC anyday.

Totally not true , I rebuild outboards all the time and they can run for short periods without water with no damage to the pump, the pump design (flexible vien pump ) allows this, in my main line of work with deal witrh alot of industrial pumps and this is one of the specific benifits of this style of pump unlike a progresive cavity which will wreck itself in seconds .

@kenitra38470 Bonjour Essaye un autre reservoir et boyau d'essence, ca se peut qu'il y a un blockage ou un probleme de pression qui empeche l'alimentation d'essence. Tiens-moi au courant. Si cela ne fait pas, achetes un Mercury !

After running it dry, you'll need to replace water pump empeller. For every second it runs dry the fast the empeller wears out. Doesn't matter if you just ran water in it.

j'ai le meme moteur mais qui ne demarre pas, les bougies sont neuves et elles sont activées electriquement, j'ai nettoyé entierement le carburateur mais il ne demarre pas

thats true, i had water connected up to it just before i put it away but forgot to tape it running so i only ran it for 25 sec so it wouldn't over heat.
