  • You guys...come on!!! It's not the instruments that are out of tune...it's the tape! You can't be out of tune like that with instruments guys...use your ears...it's distortions in the VHS tape technology, not the orchestra itself.

  • Transpositions are quite usual in operas, and not just Rossini. Nothing wrong with that. Listen to Ghiaurov and other great bass-barittons who sing this particular aria.

    The role was written originally for a bass, but when a bariton sings it, it is usual transpose it.

    Agree the distortions are probably due to the old tape...

  • This aria looks as if it was transposed. The singer is more of a baritone. Please listen to Robert Lloyd's La calunnia aria to see the difference.
