@jimamia77 The 153 is the smallest of the large carousel organs made to fit onto the carousel or for portability. The Gooding Amusement Co. of Ohio, amoung others, use to kart their 153 from place to place. So the number of pipes and so the tonal range was limited. The larger organs, such as the 165, were generally installed outside the carousel, were not portable and had a greater range.

Lo sabía, el órgano reproduce el vals Sobre las olas de Juventino rosas

I'm not much of a musician nor an expert on band organs but I have heard other organs play this waltz. The 153 seems to be limited in its musical capability compared to other organs. Some other organs use more variety of chords and use more advanced transitions and registrations.

A carousel with a Mighty Wurlitzer 153 playing "Over The Waves" by Juventino Rosas, It doesn't get any better then this. Perfect,? By what standard?
This is where the memories and the fame came from and why they are so loved today. I will go to hear it in person, wherever it is.

I always think this is from Greenfield Village. But in 2009, It was changed. The Wurlitzer band organ only plays during the ride. When the ride is over, The Wurlitzer band organ is turned off.

I really hate the way Carousels without a central drum and scenery panels to cover up the machinery look.

I wish there were more carousels with the classig band organs as there were when I was a kid. Everything's been replaced with the stereo and tape recorder, and it's just not the same thing. I'm really happy to see this video featuring such a wonderful piece of history as this organ. Long live the band organ!

Thank you for posting!!!!
I grew up with one of these organs and carousels (we called it a Merry-go-Round). It was located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin at the first drive-in restaurant in the state, The Beer Hut. When you made a purchase you received tickets for a free ride. My parents took us there during the summer for rides. The organ and carousel were split up in the 1970's and sold to two different parties. The carousel resides at our park and the organ is now for sale. Hope to get it!
Hope you get it!
We want to get one, but prices have gone thru the ceiling.
