And the money has dropped right out of it too !! I went from 40 to 50 k .. Down to half and less !!! .. Too many operators around these days and the agencies know this and have you by the balls !! .. As for training !! .
2 weeks was all I did to start and the rest you pick up as u go .. 7 years later and you still learn something new !!!

I'm a crane driver and no you don't have to be fit n healthy to climb the ladder !! .. Just be smart to where you place your feet upon climbing :):) ..

Just wondering How does someone get to become a crane operator? Is it through union apprenticeships?

With tower cranes are you required to climb a latter to get to the top...... you must be in great shape .....right

tommoreid, shut the fuck up. First of all there is no such thing as a crane driver, and crane operators can easily make between 100k and 150k a year. i should know, i am one.

In New York City Class B operators can easily make over 250k a year

Only dangerous if you don't think ahead and use common sense. My pay is between 100 and 150k a year.
