she was probably doing something wrong... regardless of whether she's a girl or not, if you mess up then it's another bandmates duty to fix it, and in this case (probably being one of new order's first television appearances) sumner probably wanted to have a good performance.
It's probably because the other synth is being used for something else on the sequence... or maybe it's broken (Prophet 5 ftw)... but maybe that's because Bernard is the synth geek.... =D
I get the feeling Bernard probably had `that idea' (Playing that wooshy synth sound on Gillian's prophet 5) before the gig and wanted to incorporate it. I love all these litttle (but actually quite major) variations that exist within EVERY single live version of Blue Monday.
New Order are one of the few `electronic' acts that hardly ever `sound just like the cd'. It's ace.
But yeah, it does seem a bit pushy on Bernard's part, I like it when Gillian readjusts the volume though!
