  • i'm using fedora 14, when i use guvcview, the audio and video are in sync, but the quality of the video is poor, meaning i cant see myself, i played with the setting on the program, but its still poor, is there a way to make that better, i have only been using fedora for 4 days so far, please help me ,

  • @foolsgold41 I got to be honest with you I am not very fond of Fedora. I recently installed version 15 in hopes that it has changed in some way, and I was surprised that I can finally use the sudo command from the terminal with out having to make adjustments to the "sudoers" file by default, but I am still struggling with the way how administrative tasks are set up in terms of permissions. I use Ubuntu, and even Ubuntu has become a nuisance with Unity look. I have to manually install Gnome 3.

  • @foolsgold41 Sorry I got out of the subject. Do you have graphics effects enabled or do you have an internal graphic card or external one installed. That could be a big factor in your picture quality. Last I checked type "sudo guvcview" without the quotes from the terminal gave me more options, but that was then and don't know if that has changed.

  • It's G-U-V-C Viewer, the first part is an acronym for "GTK USB Video Class". Nice video by the way!

  • @ProjectEsuna awesome thanks for clarifying and thanks.

  • Cool testing bro. +1

  • @bjeddahb Thanks buddy.

  • why doe it only save as text? it seems any forum i got to im the only one having this problem. what am i missing?

  • nice video bro

  • Well where it says "video & format" I choose "mpeg video 1" . The format is "AVI" I don't mess with the properties that much. I don't mess with the folder either. It normally saves in my home folder. I have a logitech pro 9000 webcam and I used to use the mic that was shown with my brand webcam name, but noticed that the /dev/dsp1 option was also availble in the audio for input device so I used that option instead because it is where my mic is located, yours could be different.

  • i need help okay so when i record its going fine but when i try to save it like saves it in a weird format and then whenevver i try to play it it says something about text only and i'm like wtf.
