This was qantum tunnling. NOT faster than light.
check out EurekaAlert.

to go light speed you'll need infinite amount of energy. If you accerlated from standing still you need sufficiant amount of energy to reach a certain speed. If you wanted to go faster you need more energy to drive you forward, faster. Plus the energy you used to take off with. So the amount of energy has already multiplied. Faster you go, the more and more energy you need because soon you'll be going the same speed or even faster than out put of energy. Which wont be light speed

It didn't go the speed of light locally, but probably because of the shape of space or the impact of matter in the area, it may have been measured to go faster than light from the beginning to the end. Remember time and space are relative, anyone interested in this subject should study this from the ground up and make sure they understand the theory.

Please excuse my ignorance, seems I was wrong about speed light, just recently found out light has no speed, light is actually propagated inside this Universe by spacetime expansion rate of 300,000,000 m/s. Human ignorance is only surpassed by human arrogance both soon to be corrected Oct. 2011.

hey so did i.. but wait you wouldn't believe that because I didn't provide a reliable fucking source

There is much room in speculation. Perpetual speculations. We do not take kindly to simple solutions around here, stranger.

the speed of light has always been slow lol

Is light speed and it limit only relative to the amount of friction incurred by the vacuum of space (zero point energy)? if you went faster wouldn't you be causing combustion and ripping time and space ??

MTSU physics professor Bill Robertson broke light speed barrier with basic $500 lab kit 10:03 EST 16 September 2002 . The speed of light is now so slooooooow.

Sources please. I would rather enjoy reading these articles

@TheHomelessCripple I've tried to get copies from the principal author but had no luck. At this point I can't even remember if he replied. I can't find it online. If you are still looking for it, and find it, please post word here.
Cheers.
