Here is the full version of the flower video I posted earlier. I missed the first few seconds the first time I posted it. Time lapse filming is very neat to see. There was another Sesame Street time lapse film about grass (or plants) growing very fast. If it's out there somewhere, it would be greatly appreciated if it was posted.

I watched that one right before I came here! I like them both a lot!

  • @retroexplosion1 u know flowers!

  • We had these flowers in our backyard. They're called Tiger Lillies. They would bloom for one day only, then close up and the flower part would die. Even as a child when I saw this clip and the part where the person said "....and it will open up again sometime" I'd yell out "NO IT WON'T!" Do I know flowers or what?

  • Hoopersghost has another time lapse ss film, called "Seeds Sprouting". That 1 seems to use the same music as this, but a different part of the song!

  • Reminds me of a closed fist!

  • Some flowers close their blossoms at night to conserve energy. It's a fact!

  • I have the times lapse of the flowers growing. They're the same flowers and the same music is playing. There's no talking, though.

And wth- call me ignorant, but I've never seen a closed flower. They just die I thought. Maybe it's that type of flower?

  • I interpret "and it will open up again sometime" as a poetic statement- that it may decompose and be fodder for another flower and/or its seeds will grow into other versions of itself... but I may be reading too much into it!

and I believe you are right, it is a daylily.

  • I thought a blossom stays open after doing so.

  • Episode 573 this first appeared.
