Jump Jet RF Mod: Maiden Outdoor Flight

I modified my Jump Jet by replacing the IR receiver with a modified micro RF FM receiver. I did this so I could fly the Jump Jet outdoors and beyond line-of-sight. As you can see in the video it flies really well outside and is a lot of fun!

Don't get me wrong, the IR that comes standard on the Jump Jet works great for indoor use, but I was keen to fly it outdoors where the IR would normally get saturated by the sunlight.

Snelflight will be releasing an RF mod eventually, so unless you know how to work an oscilloscope and don't mind SMA soldering, I suggest you wait for their official RF mod to be released.

Also, I was actually really happy with the original controller; it is very comfortable and has a tidy, compact form factor (very Playstation like). If Snelflight release an RF kit that uses their original controller housing, I'd be keen to buy that.

You actually replaced the circuit board inside is what you meant. It is very hard to modify an IR electronic circuit, so it will recieve radio waves instead.
