Beyond Planet Earth: The Future of Space Exploration (November 19,
2011-August 12, 2012) offers a vision of the future of space travel as it
boldly examines humanity's next steps in our solar system and beyond.

See a re-creation of a lunar habitat, a model of a space elevator rising up
from the surface of the Moon, and one of the world's largest color
holograms, depicting 1,000 exoplanets. Discover missions that were once
limited to the realm of science fiction but today are discussed by leading
scientists and engineers: mining for rare gasses on the Moon, landing on or
deflecting a potentially deadly asteroid, and traveling to Mars--perhaps
even establishing colonies there. Will humans eventually find a way to
venture out beyond our solar system? Will we discover evidence of life on
another planet?

Beyond Planet Earth: The Future of Space Exploration at the American
Museum of Natural History opens on November 19, 2011.

lol ur pro scientist? listen bro, going to Mars sucking up many efforts than just a money. It takes knowledge, energy to make it happen. Why we after asteroids, because they are closer to Earth and also rich of resources.

So in meantime while we cant go to Jupiter, we go for asteroids near our space. Of course after many years in future, its not a big deal to land in other part of our System.

What I really don' understand is why aren't we going to Jupiter and her moons???!

That is where the real jackpot is. Silly scientist with their moon and mars.
