With all due respect, You need the 'funk' to find the funk. You can replicate the classic 80s funk sounds with most analog synths, however those Ensoniq boards all came out late 80s which is past that true funk period im talking about (1979-1986) so they wouldn't of been used. I'm know Roland Junos/Jupiter/mks80/Jx can be found on some stuff, but i'm yet to find a funk track with TB303?? The mainstays were the SCI Prophet 5, Pro1, Oberheim FVS, Obx(a), Minimoog, DX7..etc

you need an ensoniq esq1 and sq80 to find the funk. I don't think the Junos were part of the funk thing. The 303s, and sq80s are all over the funk heaven.

Actually you can buy a converter box now that will convert DCB into MIDI. But hey, I have Juno-6 too so it doesn't matter to either of us. :)
Hey, really good. I like it, brings back memories. I had a Juno 60 and have still not forgiven myself for selling it.

the JU-6 has an arpegiator too. You sync the arpegiator via a 1/4" jack - send a trigger or gate pulse from a board or drum machine to it and the arpegiator will sync to it.

Yes, i used the LT trigger out of the TR-606
for trigger the apergiator of the JU-60.

JSQ-60 handled DCB. DCB was pre midi stuff that roland had around for a while. If you want to sequence the JU-60, you need the JSQ. If memory serves me, the JP-8 had DCB too, no midi, although the JP-6 was indeed midi.
I dig this dood's videos, very Jarreish, with a hint of Vangelis. I dig for sure. That brass patch on the Oberhiem is making the hair on my arms stand up..
