Simulated a "bad" key using a SmartBadge in close proximity of the correct key to see how the Immobilizer system behaves.

Not saying that it ain't foolproof. It's just a little explanation about how it works is all

  • Will an old credit card work?

  • It could if it has an RFID embedded inside. But if it's just the typical kind with a magnetic strip, no.

  • my car will brick itself if you try to start it with a wrong key. Then you have to tow it to the dealer to get it reprogrammed. Im not positive on this but i have read the same story a few times

  • @karandeep2009 Yes. The immobilizer just makes it much harder to start the engine. You still can tow the car away, or bypass the immobilizer. Different manufactures use different systems, and some are much easier to bypass than others. If you know the vehicle well, you can steal it with ease.

  • @jsidekick What a useful comment! What exactly is the relevance to this video?

  • @OJ88 mine won't start at all

  • @oj88 hey my car does the same thing but won't start with any keys any ideas

  • Hondas are garbage

  • @karandeep2009

Most professional thieves know how to defeat the immobilizer it's RFID based so it's not really that secure.

Some even prefer to cars with key less ignition as they don't have to deal with the mechanical lock as well.

  • Hey mate my car got stolen and it was a 1999 ford falcon with a immobiliser and everything.Do you have a clue as what are the possibilities to start it as the forensic locksmiths couldn't find anything either even after the investigation shit.

Is thee any way anyone can steal that car without the correct key??
