@ZooKeeperDanny Heartbreaking in all the words meaning yes. I was very upset. It was so funny as I would let it out sometimes from the cage (when it lacked enough feathers on its wings to fly) and it would stay guard from cats approaching our front door for food. It would make funny steps towards the cats and slowly approach and when it came closer...SNAP! Of course the cats knew it very well and knew to keep their distance. The felines though though continued to risk it. lol

@TheMuffinBurgler They all fled through different times, through different methods, anyway long story. The last one fled with an 18 month gap from the last one that fled. Last one was my favorite.

@Youcheck You would think after losing the first one you would be more careful with the last four . . .
-
@Youcheck you've lost 5 cockatoos :o that must be really heartbreaking... I coukd handle loosing 1 cockatiel.... You must be really tough...

Now that is proper training. I couldn't even dream my cockatoos coming back. I already lost 5, one really friendly and trained, not trained to come back though that's for sure.
She doesn't go far ;)

You must be very confident that she will fly back to you. Good training.

@LaughingFortune Thanks, yes im quite confident she will return i have trained her since she was a chic..there is always a risk indeed but she has had alot of practice..and cockatoos are naturally very attached to there owners. obviously i wouldnt advise just anyone to let there bird out...it did take alot of training :)
