Gershwin is probably the most fascinating American composer of all time. His mixture of jazz and classical influences give it an incredible American edge. I'm Brazilian and I certainly have heard A LOT of great music and composers going from bossa nova to Dvorak and Bach, but Gershwin is certainly still among my very faves.
