On Aug 25,2005, Nanay Perla or Ofelia Rodriguez testified on national TV that she and 200 other farmers didn't receive a single ounce of free fertilizer that was promised them by former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn Bolante

Five months later, the 61-year-old grandmother was shot in the head by a lone gunman in front of her grand children, a victim of the fertilizer scam that had allegedly been used to fund the presidential campaign of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

This is just one of many cases of plunder and dubious use of public funds of which the brave and oppressed are often silenced with threats and eventually, bullets

before another old woman gets shor, and before acres of land ends up barren,Let's vote for the man who'd go to prison and die cleaning up this country.
