http://www.mikeyssmail.com Mikey shows you how to pearl using a technique of pearling after your work is completed. He is showing you on a hat brim how to do this... but this can be done on afghans and much more as well. Listen carefully as this method isn't for everthing. This only works when you want to pearl completely down one peg line for your entire project. Fast Simple & Loom Knitting Has Never Been THis Easy

  • Why can't you do this same technique on the body of the hat? Or are you saying you can't do it on hats that are vertically striped? Because if it is one color or horizontal stripes, all you would have to do is after the body is knitted, pull the stitches out as before but only down to the brim. Use your live stitch (or loop) to put your crochet hook and continue with the crochet chain method you used on the brim.

  • Really not seeing how this is quicker since you must knit first, tear it out, then crochet the stitches again. Can see this technique useful if you changed your mind during a project, but,as for it being quicker, not really. Why do work only to tear it out and replace it on purpose?

  • Thats great Mikey! I want to ask if you have made a shrug on the larger round loom yet? If you decide please share on Video!!

  • mikey you're a freakin genius! this is fantastic!

  • omg this is so awesome! been a knitter for years, but i just got some looms - been racking my brain for an EASY and quick way to purl... thank you so much for posting this video!

  • I just finished reworking one cuff.. had done the whole thing in ewrap knit stitches and wanted it to look more like a traditional ribbed cuff and hopefully be a bit more snug. This was FAR quicker than to pull the whole thing out and start over. It takes about a min for each row of purl stitches (22 stitches in all) and has snugged up the cuff nicely. Yay! (c;

  • Great idea! I'm making mittens (ewrapped) & this goes so much faster! If you're doing ewrap for the knitted portion, the loops will be sized better if you first give a twist to the yarn as you crochet towards the peg. The first stitch requires it also, just hook, twist & remove the first loop, insert the hook the right direction. Then grab your next two strands, give a twist in the same direction & pull that loop thru your loop on the hook. Worked great!

  • I do purls the same way, except I use the Latch Hook Tool from my Bond Knitting Machine instead of a crochet needle. It's way faster that way.

  • Hi Mike, I would really love to know the answer to this as well. I just started looming and don't know much yet, but this is one thing I really want to know as I'd like to loom a scarf sometime soon.
