@bohumut I was wondering that myself until I saw the scene where it looks like Firefly is putting on his helmet. If I had to guess I would say they raided some kind storage area where a prisoner's personal effects are kept and just took them back. Of course I don't know why their weapons would be there unless maybe they were being studied for scientific purposes.

@kawrght actually Dr Destiny first appeared in the Justice League comics in the 60's so it's likely the other way around. Now admittedly his original look wasn't exactly like that and I think the animators did try to make him a bit Skeletor like for fun but yeah the character is way older. :)

@EvilCookie24 Doctor Destiny's costume greatly reminds me both of Skeletor from He-man and Taskmaster from Marvel universe.
He is also part of The Sandman comic, I believe.
