@ledamianded wrong I am a vocalist myself and popularity has nothing to do with vocal talent or a bands skill. If Jim Morrison were alive today and tried to sing a cult song, he'd shit his pants. He had no where near the power or vocal skill of Ian Astbury.... I have my doubts about how much of the Cult you have ever listened to. It's pretty hard to like the Doors and not like Electric and Sonic Temple. You come off as a douche so I'll leave it at that. :)

@samhain1967 why would I wanna see them live when I dont even like their recordings! You have obviously never entertained a crowd and IF they were that good they would be bigger the they are! the cult rock ...the doors rock same difference ...jim has more idol about him than ian but yeah ians singin voice is considersblly better than jims ....however ..poetry...mad need for a better way ....lifestyle...and general awesomeness is strictly for jim to master ....there is always something appealing about dieing young at the top of your carreer.......

Well I love the Doors and I love the Cult... but to be perfectly honest, if Jim Morrison tried to sing anything the Cult did, he'd shit himself. You may not like Ian but he has TONS more power and is way more skilled as a singer/vocalist than Jim ever could be. That said, I too think this dressing up like and trying to look like Jim was cheesy. Ian should have grown his hair to his ass again and just been himself.

ian astbury is a kick ass singer- you people obviously have not listened to the Cult's music. I recommend listening to The Cult Sonic Temple Album or Electric or Love. What do you want, somebody sounding exactly like Jim????

LMFAO!!!! I simply CAN NOT believe Ray and Robbie ever thought THIS was a smart move. Ian Assberry is an admitted lifelong fan of the original band, but there is no way, now or in the afterlife, could he ever replace Jim Morrison. For godsakes, he even tried to emulate Jim's "look", not to mention Jimbo's use of poerty on stage. Damn, if I were ray, I would've just went out on the road with various singers, in stead of putting that monkey up on stage. Ian is the downfall of this version.
