  • thanks. after thinking about it, thats what i thought.

So.....WHEN does the big tank separate? And where does it land or go?

  • It seperates a few minutes after the solid rocket boosters do. It doesn't land, most of it burns up in the atmosphere, and what's left harmlessly drops into the ocean. It's the only expendable portion of the Shuttle stack. The rocket boosters are recovered and used again on later missions.

  • My first reaction was "this has to be CGI", but I'll be, it's completely real. About time they put a camera on the SRBs, considering they are recovered. Id like to see this from liftoff to splashdown

  • great vid. Total space pr0n XD

  • Pretty sure that big tank separates a little bit after the SRB's and then it falls back and is not recovered

  • lmao at "FARTERSPARTERS"... ;)

  • It does not even look real! Its flipen SWEET.

  • WOW, thats interesting!
