It's a holiday tradition in Providence. Dancing Cop, Tony Lepore, returns to direct downtown traffic at lunchtime in the city.
Check out Tony Lepore (62 years old)- better known to many as the dancing cop. Every holiday season he comes out of retirement to show his moves as he directs traffic on the streets of Providence, Rhode Island.
Tony Lepore was a full time police officer for 17 years and retired in 1989. Because of his world renowned popularity he was re-sworn in as a part time officer and a full time performer in 1991. He first appeared that year directing traffic, and he does every year for the City of Providence's Christmas Event. From then on he has appeared live on many national shows. THE TODAY SHOW, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, THE ROSIE O'DONNELL SHOW, THE CROOK & CHASE SHOW, and REAL TV. Tony was also the subject on the PAUL HARVEY syndicated radio show. He was hired twice to perform at the TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY. He has been featured on DATELINE NBC, in which a still existing clip opens the segment which is called: "Pictures Of The Week." He was featured on NBC NIGHTLY NEWS, CNN and ESPN's "Play Of The Week." Even the BBC (British Broadcasting CO.) has called to interview him. Tony also made several TV and radio commercials, such as CELLULAR ONE, (both on radio and TV), for BENNY'S DEPARTMENT STORES, TRINITY REPERTORY CO., KIX 106, and the TODAY SHOW. In 1998 Tony hit the stage in the production of "A CHRISTMAS CAROL," a Charles Dickens classic presented by TRINITY REPERTORY CO. He not only play himself, but was in five other singing and dancing scenes as other characters. In 2002, he was featured in an NBC 10 promotional Commercial which won an Emmy Award. In January 2002, The MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corp.) Korean Television arrived in RI and filmed him for three days of footage for their variety show which aired in South Korea the following month. In July of 2002, he performed a cameo in the movie: "JESUS, MARY AND JOEY" with stars Olympia Dukakis and Melissa Joan Hart of "Sabrina, The Teenage Witch" which was produced by Vincent Pagano and directed by James Quattrochi. In Jan. 2004, Tony did sound bites for CBS's EARLY SHOW. Also in Dec. of 2004, he was featured on MSNBC "COUNTDOWN" with Keith Olbermann. In Feb. of 2005, Tony was featured on the "Looky Loo" segment of the ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW.

OMG I hate this idiot.. I don't get why people love him so much.. Imagine if you had a shop and that jackass decided to stand in front of it all day just to make those annoying noises and jump around in the street like some lunatic.
In my opinion he should have a fine for disturbing the public, or the traffic or whatever.
