  • Obama is against marijuana decriminalization now. He's officially clarified that now.

Well fuck that. He's lost my support. If you want better marijuana laws, better start supporting a Libertarian like Ron Paul or Bob Barr.

  • Edward use the most popular cookie cutter answer, I'm glad this fuck lost!

  • @Spudst3r @Spudst3r Liberals favor more freedom for the individual, and 72% of all liberals in a Gallup poll were for legalizing marijuana, so they agree with libertarians on social liberty issues. But overall, most Democratic candidates have moved into a more populist, Big Government-leaning on issues as have both parties, so "mainstream" candidates have shied away from marijuana reform. But yeah, I think the only candidates willing to bring this to the table are Ron Paul and Gary Johnson.

  • @Andrew32488 Yeah it was 2 years ago I made that comment. The marijuana issue is really not a left-right issue--that's why Ron Paul and Kucinich see eye to eye on it. Presidential primaries are an excellent time to get people's attention on this issue, and given that we will only be seeing a Republican presidential primary this time... there's a lot of opportunity through someone like Ron Paul to get public attention on this issue IMO. With enough focus... maybe Obama's 2nd term it'll happen?

  • @Spudst3r

Vote for Kucinich. He's the Ron Paul, without letting the free market enslave the public.

  • @Spudst3r or Gary Johnson?

  • prohibiting marijuana is sending the WRONG message to young people, it's telling them that civil liberties mean nothing, the Constitution means nothing, it's telling them that we will spend billions trying to stop marijuana but hardly nothing trying to stop rapists, pedophiles and other violent criminals. Marijuana prohibition is fascist and only continues the cycle of greed, corruption and injustice in this country.

  • @Spudst3r

yeah better start supporting Libertarians like Ron Paul if you want abortion to be illegal again, that's what he really cares about, not legalizing marijuana. he simply uses that to appeal to young ignorant voters whose views he doesn't really support

  • And what is the message and signal of the Golmansacs scandal?

  • I remember hearing a while back that edwards was against drug testing for marijuana.

  • Bob Barr supports wiretapping

  • How about we outlaw people named John Edwards.
