Siyenga Dynamic: Adhiambo Sianda 1

Probably the longest benga song ever! [How long is malomalo of Aluoch?] This whimsical tale of Adhiambo the Buttocks got a radio ban for some time. Omanyo claims somebody stole the song and recorded it before him! Who is it he denounces so emotively? 'Olwenda modak e oda to ok chul rent!'

The phrase 'Adhiambo Sianda' has become folklore in dholuo.

Jarawilla this is the third version of the (in)famous Adhiambo Sianda that I've now heard.. and a refreshing one I must add.

I don't know what the full length of this track is but Jamaranda's 'Malo Malo' is no less than 20mins. Thanks for the upload. Tiji mora osiepa.

@dalaSega The Adhiambo character as a heroine in our music, is like Obong'o Obong'o in our oral tales. She surfaces everywhere. Ogwan'g Lelo Kokoth too has an Adhiambo version! And deep in Alego nyatiti territory, there are some very very cheeky adhiambo lyrics: [kuom ranyisi. Ni wembe otamo bungu oimo wang'e! akwong abete eka achop kuro, koso abare abare piyopiyo gi kichanu! alewo oko wang'yo odinorena! Meanwhile they top up your chang'aa glass!
