This weekend was a welcome break in the otherwise freezing weather around Richmond, and a perfect opportunity to break in my new tripod on Saturday. The head's fluid dampening and counterbalancing ability allowed me to indulge in long approach shots that previously would have resulted in a lot of shaking on my old tripod. And there were a lot of approach shots to make too - 15 trains in 6 hours.
First up was the southbound Carolinian seen here, led by P42 125.
Nice video of the southbound Carolinian. I need to get back out to the RF&P soon.

I thought the North East Regional Cafe cars were specificly meant to be used on the Northeast Regionals like # 66 or 195...and not the Carolinian.
