Economic Collapse Preparations: Gold & Silver

Gold & silver are great, but for most of us non investor types, don't put all your eggs in that basket. If you are on a budget, food and survival gear may be a much better investment.

I always say to my wife "if anybody can survive the collapse, it will be our 11 year old daughter". She's amazing. Knows how to cook, spin yarn, knit, sew, tend to chickens, garden. ;o) Thanks a lot.

I agree with your overview--look what just happened in Greece. However if , say, 50 to 100 NWO soldiers arrive at your front door and break it down, no safe will do you any good. They will take it or blow it as you watch. Same with an angry, hungry mob of rioters, though you might be able to keep them back if you are armed and most of them aren't. However you likely won't be able to fight off repeated attacks.

I am not trying to be rude but you have no clue wtf you are talking about. If there is a total breakdown in the world market silver and gold will be worth nothing. The American doller is supposed to be notes from the federal bank saying you own that much in gold. Gold has no practical purpose. Its to soft unless smelted with other metal to use to build with. So your saying your preparing for an up coming crisis yet your buying things that have no value what so ever?

@l3eReal Actually its had value nearly since recorded history. Ancient Egypt, Romans, Aztecs, all had huge records of Gold being valuable. Jesus was betrayed for silver. These metals have held value FAR longer than any currency that exists.

Silver & Gold are both used in industry (in particular silver).

But I do believe in food preps & supplies FIRST. If you have spare cash, get metals so the value will keep.

@awarepatriot Have a fall back location. With a bug out vehicle so you can get away from major population centers. let everyone do their crazy thing for a few days or weeks then after hysteria return to your looted house with your supplies. It's better than having your supplies taken.

i live in an apartment in the city, if the collapse happens, my plan is this - go across the street and rob the pharmacy... walk down the street and go rob the food store

You would want to really hide that - think about where most WOULD not look - average everyday places (like behind toilet paper / towls in the bathroom). If they find that safe and you/family are there with it - they will use a family member to make you open it.
