Only 5 year's old, Devin is in need of a life-saving transplant. Born in 2003, Devin was diagnosed with Short Bowel Syndrome & spent the first 13 months of his life in the hospital. Due to his serious medical needs & family situation, he became a ward of the State of New Jersey.

Despite his significant health issues, a pediatric nurse from the hospital & her family decided to adopt Devin. He became an active part of a very supportive, caring, & loving family. During the last 4 years they have consulted with some of the worlds most renowned experts on caring for children with short bowel syndrome and bowel rehabilitation.

Earlier this year, Doctors at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC recommended a life-saving transplant. With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, few can afford the financial burden of such a procedure. Volunteers are actively trying to raise $100,000.00 to help defray some of the cost of this life saving surgery.

For more information about these efforts and Devin's Journey, as well as learning how you can help out in this situation, please go to http://cotafordevinm.com.

The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant needy patients.
