What's he using the reel-to-reel tape machine for? It doesn't seem to be playing back anything, so is he recording? Or using it as a delay unit (as per Ritchie Blackmore) or what?

One machine is used as a stereo-cross-delay, and the other one is for recording.

Hi Angela :) I don't understand you, does it mean you don't like K. Schulze's music and prefers Jarre's one? I don't agree with you about K. Schulze's lack of theme, whatever he wrote and played. I rather think he's got a global view & perfectly knows where he's heading to. This is something impossible to understand for someone who's used to standard format of 3' 30 songs. The 60's & 70's were the time for longer songs than today, today they're mostly repetition of a theme and some words.

The Transition at the end that he is attempting is completely flawless, I bet that is very hard to do, know which dials,etc to turn and when, Absolutely flawless attempt at the end, excellent ending transition.
