comparing computers to bikes is pointless; they're two completely different things. And it all depends on what your thing is. For me and most people watching this vid, spending 5g on a bike means have a killer bike, while someone who likes computers would equally have a blast with the computer that could be bought (or made) from it. We love bikes like you love an high spec computer.
Even your friend's $800 doesn't come near as amazing as this bike is. And it's not all about downhill and jumps; this is an XC bike and it needs to have what it does for everything, including downhill and occasional jumps. My point is, being the owner of a $3300 XC bike and having started on a bike that cost me $500, there is a world of difference that can't be understood unless you've ridden extensively on them.
im so envious. with my current financial situation wanting new road bike is impossible i have yet rode any s-work bikes yet, but reading what these bike magazine reviews are saying, they are as smooth and runs like a dime in par with the legendary madone.
Having a stupid ass expensive bike is pointless, buy bike somewhere in the $400 range and it will serve you well. I go downhill through woods and shit and off jumps on a bike I bought at K-Mart for 200 bucks and it works just as well as my friends $800 bike. So wasting money on a expensive bike is pointless.

My computer cost me $4200 and I built it myself and got items while they were on sale. So a bike better cost way less than a computer.

Still a waste of money. A strong framed bike is a strong framed bike.

buy a demo from a bike shop, that's what I did. I have an Epic Expert and it cost me less then a new comp!

Yeah, I'm Trying to buy a specialized Epic Comp, and I still can't afford it! The 2007 Model still leaves me $600 short!
