As a scientist I have used ESRI mobile software in the past. Not until now have I seen a tool with so many scientific applications, as the iPad. ESRI released ArcGIS iOS this week and this is our first look.
This App has a HUGE problem, it won't let you save or export any measures(distances or areas) or user points you calculate on the field. Without this, it feels very incomplete
@brainchild0 I did use the app with the gps and it worked pretty well. As with all apps they will continue to improve. I'd love to see how she uses it.
I was planning to get my fiancee an iPad for her college graduation, she studied GIS, but this just sealed the deal. This will give her an edge that not many people will have anytime soon in the field.
