Jerry practiced what he preached here. By 1972, he had played with five or six different bands and muscians (Merl Saunders, Howard Wales, NRPS, Crosby & Nash, Jefferson Airplane, solo efforts, ect) on live and studio efforts. David and the Dorks is an excellent example of the Bay Area group effort recordings.

@folkrockm14 Naaaaaaaah, Jesus Christ was/is the best person ever. But Jerry's fairly high on my list.

Jerry was a visionary!
-
i think he might be high.

@jimaroo100 It's irritating that he has the reputation with some people as some brain dead burnout when he was clearly extremely high iq.
-
Yeah Jerry had a good point imagine instead of a headlining group but the headliner was music like this "come see music live in concert"
-
europe 72's tour was the best tour

The Grateful Dead in 1972.....Why was i born in 1987!?!?
Now that I have most of the Dicks Picks series and many other live shows, I can still remember how great it was listening to Europe 72' for the first few times, back when that was almost all I had from 72. Those are days that I miss and will never get back. The music was new and fresh. However, all us Grateful Dead fans must grow in the music of our beloved band.
best man to ever live
