In this lesson we focus on the use of the E pentatonic scale in the open position. This is great for creating blues-rock grooves, fills and riffs.

Riffs like these present us the opportunity to work on our dynamics, adding in the "herbs and spices" as I like to call them. These include techniques such as: palm-muting, accents, dampening and vibrato.

  • I have never loved SGs so much. Always thought they looked amazing though. Maybe I should buy in a few years. They're a lot cheaper than Les Paul's right? This one sounds really good in all the videos. are you using a v-amp?

  • @TaffyRaphie Line 6 Toneport on the Club Tone preset. Nice for bluesy rock. SG's are still a bit on the expensive side. At least here in Australia anyway.

  • Rockin' riffs, love that squeal!
