  • I bet this took like 2 hours to load from the tape

  • Actually it's a cartridge game :)

  • Listen to that little SID chip working it's guts out to emulate the soundtrack! I loved the C64!

  • Considering the limitations of the C64, I think it's safe to say that this version kicks ass.

  • @leszken Tearing off the toe nail happens in the other versions ...

  • this primitive graphics is enough dark suggestive to feed your imagination, but final battle looks like tearing of toenail from giant foot.

Today it seems to be impossible make anything having 48K free ram.

  • @laffer35 really no wonda its hard to come by

  • these old games...busting your ass to finish them only to get a freaking "congratulations"

  • The most legendary game of all times! (imho)

  • absolutely great soundtrack emulation. The c64's version is more exciting, while the Amiga's soundtrack for SotB was more surreal and creepy.

  • This SID version sounds much more interesting than Amiga modules. It was much easier to compose the tune on the Amiga. C64 is something really unique - when you read the specs this seems to be quite ordinary 8-bit machine, but once you check what was and still is done on this machine... You must be shocked. 8-bit KING!

  • weird but interesting game.

  • There wasn't a tape version, since the cartridge offered some enhancements over the c64-hardware like the parallax-scrolling.

By the way, were there still tape-versions of c64-games released in the early nineties? I thought everyone would have had a 1541 by then ;-)

The ZX-Spectrum 128K-version was released on tape actually.
