The Dog Catchers @ Nectars after PHISH outgrows the gig!

When Phish outgrew their original stomping grounds at Nectar's Lounge in Burlington,Vt, there were big shoes to fill in 1989! Celebrating their 20th year on the Burlington music scene, The Dog Catchers return to the famous Nectar's in Burlington Vermont for their "NICE PUPPIES!" CD release party on 11/17/09. Here are the boys performing their original instrumental "Coyote Strut" penned by songwriter & Rythym Guitarist Phil Peery. Lead Guitarist Bob Weisburgh is pictured here next to Phil Peery, his friend of 30 years, layin' down the licks on the Fender Stratocaster.
Out of sight,but not out of mind are Bassist Steve Peery and Drummer Gene Bouffard holding down the bottom end, and adding their own signature touch to the original number from The Dog Catchers 1989 debut release "Mutt Music."
Back in 1989,The Dog Catchers played numerous weekend gigs at Nectar's shortly after PHISH became too big for the venue (PHISH fans were notorious for drinking water rather than booze) The days of Fries and Gravy!

The Dog Catchers also appeared on a local benefit cassette tape in 1990, as did PHISH ("Homes For The Holiday" was the name of the cassette, which was the brainchild of WIZN's Mike Luoma, who was inspired by a similar Boston Homeless Benefit Project).
