This is an educational video describing the unique process of SAGD or Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage used by the oil and gas industry today. SAGD is a method used to extract heavy oil trapped inside oil sands deposits stored deep underground. Using a Producer Well and an Injector Well, steam is pumped down the injector well causing the heavy oil/water mixture to leach out of the oil sands and into the producer well allowing for it to be pumped to the surface for processing.
