  • flawed on so many levels.Love to debate this bullshit.

  • what do we mean by "progressive"?

  • @nonpartpundit

If you're waiting for the NDP to be "influential" with a Liberal minority government, note that in the past 40 years, there have been exactly two Liberal minorities. The NDP "squeezed" no child care program out of Paul Martin. In the three years he was PM, no such program ever materialized; only a hypothetical promise to do so if Martin was re-elected. As for the Tories being afraid to spend, they are the highest-spending government in Canadian history.

  • @nonpartpundit

Um yeah. For the record, Pearson hasn't been PM in 42 years and Trudeau hasn't been PM in 26 years. That Liberal Party is dead, my friend, and left-leaning voters deny this fact at their own peril. If you want left, go NDP; if you want right, go Tory.

  • I love how you lump in the Liberals with "parties with progressive platforms." Do combat missions led by Americans, corporate tax cuts, anti-scab policies, covert support for the Iraq war, a loss on your own vote on overseas abortions, failure for 13 years to institute national daycare and pharmacare, and full support for Harper's right-wing anti-crime legislation qualify as "progressive"? The NDP and Bloc, yes, but the Liberals? Come on. You're trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

  • you ignorant turds, read more and dont assume that because they have a coalition that democracy doesn't exist... Look also at the effects of the harper administration on Canada then make an objective statement. rediculous

  • Good job, it worked without having to take power and force an election we can't afford. Harper ran scared & finally realized that something was going on with the economy....I've a funny feeling that though he may call himself an economist, chances are he barely passed his university classes. Just remember, someone always finishes last in each class but they still earn the right to say they are educated. I voted for him and I'll admit we have the wrong man in power now.
