@inatizzy2 Rex Fowler must have enjoyed something about east-central Connecticut. A couple years ago, he was renting a place down the hall from my son .... in a converted thread mill building in Willimantic. Not sure if he's still there, as my son has since moved-on. BTW, Willimantic was home to the Shaboo Inn, a hotbed for music in the sixties and seventies, and Aztec Two-Step were regulars there.

@TyteFystedFolkie It made it to Oklahoma, long time ago. :-)

these boys are better than the mammas and papas they were just out of thier time but we still got em ..didnt we!

the children run about with no idea whats happening behind them. Im only 22 but I have more respect for these two gentlemen than most modern musicians.

When I was in college at Oneonta State in the 70's they performed regularly. Their debut album is still on heavy rotation on my iPod.

@TyteFystedFolkie There are a lot of New Englanders who have still not heard of them that are my age. They were one of my favorite groups in college. Luckily, growing up in Newport we were exposed to so much variety in music because of the Folk and Jazz festivals and the multitudes of small clubs all over town that hosted live music. The best of the best have played there and these guys are no exception :)

@jaxgal618 Aztec Two-Step was/is an NYC duo, and it seemed as though we, at UConn, had a direct line to them in the mid 70's. I always kind of wondered just how widely spread their music made it.

Still sound as great as ever. Im still an Acoustic freak and the big guy rocks the acoustic! I was informed from a long time friend of mine We seen them together.. Uh, 70's fog I guess. Dang. Would love to see them now!

@trykkid I'm from Newport and they used to play around town a lot back then, especially at Harpo's. They were one of my favorite bands and when I moved to Colorado in '79 to finish college I booked them for a concert there. I think it was the first time they were ever out west. No one there had ever heard of them but they loved them and I was really excited to have gotten them out there.

They'll be performing their Simon & Garfunkel songbook show with host Pete Fornatale on Wednesday Nov 16, 2011 in Woodbridge, NJ
