May 18th, 2009, SGT Rick DeMarco passed away and this country and all Veterans lost a great advocate and human being. He was and always will be my buddy and my wife and I miss him dearly. Rick was a rarity, a true friend that you could trust your life and wife with and he would never betray that friendship. Cecelia and I will never let your memory die, Rick, we will always make sure you are remembered. Veterans Day is coming soon and we both will be thinking of you. If anyone reading this travels Interstate 77 in Ohio, when you see the signs naming that road, The Vietnam Veterans Of America Highway, Rick was instrumental along with a few others that organized us all and kept the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame from stealing the name of the highway away from us well deserving Vietnam Veterans. Semper Fi, Rick!

  • I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and fellow Veteran. As the daughter, sister, niece, cousin of Veterans, as well as a USAF Veteran, myself, I remember every day the sacrifices made by those who serve(d). 5/5 stars and a grateful salute, and thank YOU for YOUR service. Welcome home.

  • Thank you, stormspinner1, for your kind remarks regarding my buddy. Your comments about my service and the welcome home mean so much even after all these years have passed. I would hope the people of the United States will never treat returning veterans like some people that were so hostile and nasty to those of us that willingly went to Vietnam. Please thank all of your family that have served America by wearing the military uniform.

  • Im terebly sorry for your loss. I know how hard it can be to lose a loved one to war. My dad is a vietnam vet, and i will proudly stand behind him and anyone else who has ever served. May he rest in peace with the knowing that he will forever walk teh streets of gold, the way illuminated by his halo
