Lambrakis Sargetakis

Gregoris Lambrakis way of life and assassination (WITH HIS SALARY HE EVEN RUN A SMALL CLINIC FOR PATIENTS WHO WERE UNABLE TO AFFORD MEDICAL CARE) [see more at wikipedia] influenced Greek people maybe more than J.F.Kennedy did to US and the world. Inspired also Vassilis Vassilikos, Costa Gavras and Mikis Theodorakis for "Z" the novel, the film and the music. On 22 May 1963 in Thessaloniki, just after dark, when he was crossing the street after a speech he delivered, a small three wheeled open truck driven by S. Gotzamanis headed towards and E. Emmanouilidis who was hidden at the back hit him with a metal stick on the head. Although a great number of police forces including the chief who earlier guarantied Lambrakis safety were at the scene, nobody moved, but a citizen run and jumped on the vehicle so the identity of those two was revealed. Died five days later. Young investigator Christos Sargetakis, (we see him in the second part of the clip interviewed by Giannis Janetakos, Mar 2007), when realized that almost all the authorities were involved (police, army, justice, government) kept the investigation secret and by falsely accusing Gotzamanis to be a communist, he managed him confess that he is rather the opposite. More then organized to a far right extremists group rooted to the above mentioned authorities. His identity as a member of this group was found at his home by the investigator. A few months later Prime Minister Constantine Karamanlis resigned and left for Paris.

συμφωνω!, και καποιοι θεωρουν εθναρχη τον γερο καραμανλη...δεν βγαινει καποιος στην τηλεωραση να βγαλει τα αισχη του στη φορα, και τους "διωγμους" που εφαγαν οι αριστεροι απο αυτον...ντροπη τους. Αντρες σαν τον Ανδρεα και τον Λαμπρακη δεν θα υπαρξουν ποτε ξανα...

Μα οσο κολλημενος κι αν ειναι καποιος με την δεξια η την αριστερα πρεπει να καταλαβει ποτε καποιος αξιζει τον τιτλο του ηγετη. Καποιος που σε πολυ δυσκολη θεση θα παρει μια αποφαση η θα κανει κατι που θα κρινει (για καλο) την ιστορια του τοπου. Πρέπει να είσαι πολύ πιεσμένος στη ζωή σου, ίσως απο κάποιο πρόβλημα ανικανότητας; Υπάρχουν πλέον θαυμάσιοι γιατροί που μπορείς να επισκευθείς για να μην καταντήσεις σαν τον Αδόλφο Χίτλερ. I don´t know anything about Greek history. But was Frederika really involved in his assassination?
